B-H CROAT DEMANDS MET WITH ESTABLISHMENT OF SARAJEVO CITY COUNCIL

( Editorial: --> 3330 ) SARAJEVO, Jan 9 (Hina) - With the establishment of the Sarajevo City Council Bosnian Croats have realised their political goal concerning the political and territorial organisation of the Bosnian capital, Bosnian Presidency member Kresimir Zubak said Friday during his talks with Croat officials in cantonal and city authorities. A protocol on the organisation of Sarajevo, signed in October 1996 with the mediation of then current deputy international High Representative Michael Steiner, has been implemented despite numerous objections, Zubak's office said in a statement. The Sarajevo City council yesterday elected Rasim Gacanovic, of the Serb Democratic Action, as new mayor, while Ante Zelis of the Croatian Democratic Union of B-H was elected deputy mayor.
