The cell was opened in memory of Tudjman as well as all political
prisoners -- victims of communism.
Tudjman had said he would attend the opening of the cell, but this,
unfortunately, never came about, Justice Minister Zvonimir
Separovic, said at the opening.
More than 48,000 political prisoners had been detained in the
Lepoglava centre, and their names have been registered, Separovic
said, adding the cell had been named after the first Croatian
President, Franjo Tudjman.
