ZAGREB, Dec 14 (Hina) - Honorary president of the Jewish organisation B'nai B'rith, Tommy Baer, on Tuesday extended a letter of condolence to the Croatian people on the passing of Croatian President Franjo Tudjman. Baer said in the
letter that he had met President Tudjman several times in the past four years. It was a relationship of mutual respect and trust, he said. Baer stressed that Tudjman's place in history was secured as the first president of the independent Croatia who opened the gates to the West. The gates must remain open in the interest of Croatia's integration into western institutions and movement towards full democracy, the letter said.
