CAIRO PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO YEMEN PRESIDENT CAIRO, Dec 2 (Hina) - Croatian Ambassador in Cairo Drago Stambuk on Wednesday presented Yemen President Alia Abdullah Saleh with credentials, and also became the first Croatian Ambassador
to Yemen, the Croatian Embassy in Cairo reported Thursday. The Croatian Ambassador and the Yemen President discussed the situation in Croatia and the region, as well as economic and political situations in Yemen. Both parties expressed wish for stronger bilateral relations, particularly in economy. The Yemen President showed interest in Croatian President Tudjman's health condition, and wished him soon recovery. He also wished Croatia permanent peace and prosperity, read the statement. During his visit to Yemen, Stambuk held talks with other state officials, including the Yemen foreign minister who, on behalf of Yemen, promised support to Croatia in the issue of "Yugoslavia's status" in the United Nations.(hina)
