The delegation led by Bishop Freda Gardner, on Tuesday held talks
with the head of the Osijek administration of Reformed Christian
Church, Jasmin Milic.
There are 23 organised parishes of the Reformed Church in Croatia,
and of them, 19 are in the Croatian Danube River Area.
During the Serb aggression against the country, churches were badly
damaged. The Reformed church in Bilje was burnt to the ground, while
churches in Laslovo and Hrastin were substantially damaged.
In addition, damage was done to churches in Vinkovci, Tordinci and
Korod (the Vinkovci administration of the Reformed Church).
All of them should be reconstructed and big financial means are
necessary for this purpose. The financial aid of the American
Presbyterian Church is therefore welcome, Milic said adding that
thanks to such help the church in Tordinci has already been
renovated.
A delegation of the Presbyterian Church had previously toured
churches in eastern Croatia immediately after the completion of war
operations in the region, said the Bishop of the Reformed Church in
Croatia, Endre Langh, during the dignitaries' visit to Vinkovci
administration.
The U.S. guests also visited Vukovar and several war-hit churches
and parishes in eastern Croatia.
