officials competition of the well-respected world film festival in

After four "Golden Arenas", received during the last year film
festival in the northern Adriatic town of Pula, and the successful
premiere in the official programme of this years festival in
Moscow, Transatlantic is the first Croatian film in the independent
Croatian state selected for the official competition at a well-
respected world film festival.
Apart from Moscow and Mar del Plata, such film festivals are only
held in Cannes, Berlin, and Montreal, said the director of
Transatlantic, Mladen Juran.
At the ten-day-long festival, the Croatian film will be shown in the
competition with 15 other movies. The director of the best movie
will be awarded with US$625,000, which he is invest in his next
movie, with the condition that the movie is to be realised in the co-
production with Argentina, before the next film festival in Mar del
Plata.
