ZAGREB, Nov 8 (Hina) - Croatian National Parliament vice-president
Vladimir Seks told Israeli Ambassador to Croatia, Nathan Meron,
Monday that the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) party bench
would motion for the report of the commission for determining was
and post-war casualties be refused by the National Parliament, but
be returned to the commission.
I also used the opportunity to pose a question in the Parliament
about the so-called report which is shameful and humiliating, Meron
said after the meeting with Seks.
He added the talks had been very open.
Vice-president Seks told me very clearly that the Parliament would
not accept this report, and that it would be discussed on Thursday,
he said.
The HDZ party bench will discuss the report on Monday and motion
that it not be adopted, but returned to the commission with a very
harsh and clear warning about what it is about and what they must
explain, change and amend, Seks said, adding he was dissatisfied
with the report.
"The Parliament will discuss the commission report on Thursday,"
Seks said, adding it had "in a methodologically unacceptable way
reached a conclusion that there has been a significant reduction of
victims of World War II and the Jasenovac concentration camp."
"This must be said publicly clearly and unequivocally and return
(the report) to the commission to do its work completely clearly and
lucidly, and not bring into question either historic truths or the
number of victims" of World War II, Seks said.
