ZAGREB, Oct 29 (Hina) - The Croatian social Liberal Party (HSLS) Parliament bench will motion a bill with measures preventing manipulation with MP mandates, HSLS representative Josko Kontic told a news conference at the Croatian
National Parliament Friday. According to the motion, the right to a privileged MP pension would be the right of only those MPs who stayed in office at least half a mandate, meaning two years, not several days. Existing legal provisions to not regulate adequately the length of an MP mandate after which benefits can be used, so the bill will be used to demotivate those who wish to exploit the function and transfer the burden of privileged pensions to tax payers. Kontic said that recently, two Members of Parliament had, ahead of the last session of the House of Representatives, frozen their mandates without explanation, and the HSLS holds it is their intention to use their MP mandates
