WASHINGTON, Oct 2 (Hina) - Tommy Baer, former president of the B'nai B'rith Jewish organisation and the organisation's assistant director, George Spectre, will attend the end of the trial against the former commander of the Jasenovac
concentration camp indicted of war crimes against humanity, Dinko Sakic, in Zagreb on Monday. The B'nai B'rith centre in Washington said Saturday the trial against Sakic was important not only as an expression of justice for many victims, but also as an expression of opposition to the attempts of revisionists to show Ustashi as anti-Communist patriots. Baer stressed this was the first trial of this sort in central and eastern Europe. The result of the trial will be important for Croatia's relations with both Israel and the United States, as well as for the atmosphere in similar proceedings in other countries, including Austria and Latvia, the organisation stressed.
