HR-TELIA-TELENOR BRIEF NEWS BULLETIN IN ENGLISH NO. 3397 HINA ZAGREB, SEPTEMBER 29 CRO GOVERNMENT REFUSES TELIA-TELENOR BID FOR HT SHARESZAGREB, Sept 29 (Hina) - The Croatian Government at Wednesday's session discussed the bid by the Swedish-Norwegian telecommunications company Telia-Telenor for the purchase of a 35 per cent share of Croatian Telecommunications. Their offer of US$611 million was assessed as too low, and the bid was not accepted, the Government's Public and Media Relations Office said in a statement after the session. The Government also decided to open another round of bids, enabling the Telia-Telenor and Deutsche Telecom companies to submit their bids again. They are two strategic investors who indicated serious interest for the purchase of Croatian Telecommunications stock.
