STRASBOURG, Sept 23 (Hina) - A report of the Council of Europe monitoring committee on Croatia's progress in fulfilling its obligations will be prepared after the coming election in Croatia, said Jerzy Jaskiernia, a Polish
parliamentarian and rapporteur for Croatia, at Thursday's session of that committee in Strasbourg. The monitoring committee convened this meting, during the session of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, to discuss preparations of its reports on Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. At the end of the committee's session a question was posed on preparations of a report on Croatia. Rapporteur Jerzy Jaskiernia answered that the monitoring committee
had recently received a recommendation from the Ministerial
Committee which called on Croatia to take or supplement all
necessary measures for fulfilling assumed obligations within time
terms. The final deadline for some of those obligations expires at
the end of October.
He announced the visit of rapporteurs to Zagreb after the election
and the constituent assembly of the new Sabor. This visit can be
expected in February or March next year so that a final report may be
drafted for the April session of the Parliamentary Assembly.
