seven months of 1999 totalled 3.027 billion dollars, or 15.2
percent less than in the same period in 1998.#L#
From 1 January to 1 August this year, expenditure and borrowing
amounted to 3.567 billion dollars or 4.3 percent more than in the
first seven months of last year, according to the Finance
Ministry's figures.
Of total revenues, even 99 percent was current revenues ensuring 3
billion US or 10 percent less than in the first seven months of 1998.
The prospective yield brought just 22.15 million, and larger
prospective yields are expected in autumn.
The biggest means (1.479 billion) were gained from taxes, and 260
million dollars were collected from the Value Added Tax.
In the first seven months 1,136 billion dollars were allocated from
the budget for subsidies and other current transfers. Salaries and
contributions for budget's users took 1.123 billion dollars (16
percent more than in the same period last year).
The ministry described July as a month for paying interest rates.
The government paid 21.76 million dollars for domestic interest
rates. Foreign creditors received 46.3 million as interest rates
from Croatia. Of it, 23.7 million dollars were given for
obligations toward the London Club and 9.49 million to the Paris
Club. In July, 9.82 million dollars were paid for interest rates on
euro-mark bonds and some bonds for commercial banks. In addition,
10.95 million dollars of the capital sum were paid to the Paris
Club, while 6.85 million of the capital sum of the loan were
returned to the London Club.
