MOSTAR, Aug 7 (Hina) - The OSCE mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina on Friday released results of a recently conducted opinion poll which show that most Bosnians hold that their elected officials are either irresponsible or indifferent
toward needs of citizens. Out of total 3,000 questioned citizens, 60 percent of them believes that their representatives do not pay enough attention to real needs of voters, while only three percent of respondents maintains that the elected politicians are highly responsible for the needs of voters. Out of three thousand respondents, one thousand have been Croats, one thousand Moslems (Bosniaks) and one thousand Serbs, according to a statement issued by the Mostar-based office of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). the permanent election legislation.
The OSCE spokeswoman added that Bosnia's nationals wanted a system
which will reward skills and abilities and a system for citizens
rather than politicians.
In the opinion of 56 percent of respondents, reconciliation among
peoples will be reached in coming ten years.
Asked about key issues of the national interest, the questioned
citizens showed great differences depending on their ethnic
origins. Questioned Moslems put more attention to the
strengthening of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the return of refugees and
displaced persons. Serb and Croat respondents focus on the
protection of their languages and history, read the OSCE
