EQUIPMENT FOR AMERICAN COMPONENT OF SFOR ARRIVES IN RIJEKA

RIJEKA, June 30 (Hina) - At the Rijeka Brajdici port terminal, an American ship Delaware Bay carrying equipment for American forces arranged in the SFOR arrived Wednesday. This marks the commencement of the third logistic operation of equipment exchanges for the American forces through the Rijeka port and the Krk airport. The operation will continue over the next few months, operations commander Thomas Baker reported at a press conference Wednesday. Baker said that another three ships were to arrive at the Rijeka port during August and September carrying helicopters, road vehicles and equipment for the American forces. The operation will also involve the return of equipment to be serviced which is currently being used. Logistic operations through the Rijeka port conducted by American forces engaged in the SFOR, Baker said, have become routine because of the high standards applied including a high level of infrastructure, professional work of all those involved and the extremely good support by the Croatian Army and police forces.
