ZAGREB, May 11 (Hina) - Due to the financial crisis in the Croatian health system where debts have reached US$586 million, Health Minister Zeljko Reiner delegated members of the Counsel for the Reform of the Health System to define
measures for overcoming the financial difficulties by September. Reiner holds two kinds of measures should be suggested -- urgent rehabilitation measures, and other measures for rehabilitating the health system, which would be applied from the year 2000. Reiner said at the counsel session on Tuesday it was necessary to ensure a fresh influx of money into the health system because it was lacking US$22.8 million every month. Reiner also stressed the need for the defining of the scope of rights in primary health care so every insured person could be aware of which medical services he has a right to, which are for additional health insurance.
