BERAK, May 11 (Hina) - Crews of the Croatian Government Commission for Detained and Missing Persons on Tuesday started the exhumation of a mass grave near Berak, the Vukovar-Srijem County. The grave, containing the remains of victims
of the Serb aggression on Croatia, was discovered on May 7. According to pathologist Drinko Balicevic, the remains of 11 victims were discovered from the grave so far. There are suspicions that the grave contains more bodies, mostly middle-aged and elderly civilians. There is evidence indicating that the bodies were transported to the grave from some other location, during the Serb occupation. The bodies of the exhumed persons will be taken to the Forensic Institute in Zagreb for identification. The exhumation of the remains of six victims discovered in a well in Cakovci, a village near Vukovar, was completed yesterday.(hina) it/ms
