SARAJEVO, April 27 (Hina) - The Office of the high international
Representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina (OHR), at the request of the
Croatian Foreign Ministry, on Tuesday consented to the import of
oil and oil products into Republika Srpska, OHR spokeswoman
Alexandra Stiglmayer said in Sarajevo on Tuesday.
She told reporters the import of oil from Croatia into the Bosnian
Serb entity of Republika Srpska had been ceased temporarily last
week, as customs services had demanded to know whether the embargo
on fuel imposed on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia also
pertained to Republika Srpska.
The Croatian Foreign Ministry asked for our standpoint and we
allowed the import of oil, Stiglmayer said.
Stabilisation Force (SFOR) spokesman David Scalon said the NATO-
led troops in Bosnia-Herzegovina only controlled traffic of
military character, and fuel does not at the moment fall into that
category.
Whether Bosnia-Herzegovina will be included in the embargo on fuel
imposed on Yugoslavia will be decided on by state organs, Scanlon
said.
Bosnian Foreign Minister Jadranko Prlic said the decision on
joining in the boycott can only be reached by the state Presidency,
which has not discussed the issue yet.
He stressed bodies in authority in Bosnia-Herzegovina will in the
future, as they have up till now, do everything to keep the country
out of the current conflict in Yugoslavia.
