MEETING IN MEMORY OF JASENOVAC VICTIMS TO BE HELD ON APRIL 25

ZAGREB, April 22 (Hina) - The Association of Croatian Anti-fascist Fighters will on Sunday, April 25, organise a meeting at the Memorial Area of Jasenovac, commemorating the 54th anniversary of the breakthrough of prisoners from the Jasenovac concentration camp. The concentration camp in Jasenovac was the largest execution site in Croatia for Serbs, Jews and Romanies, but also for many Croats who were members of the anti-fascist movement, the Association's president Ivan Fumic told reporters in Zagreb on Thursday. The Independent State of Croatia (NDH) was not an independent but a puppet state of the Nazi Germany, Fumic said, adding it was wrong to brandish the Croat people as Nazis because the majority of the Croat people were members of the anti-fascist movement. General Janko Bobetko and the presidential advisor on humanitarian issues, Slobodan Lang, will address the meeting on behalf of Croati
