VUKOVAR VUKOVAR, April 17 (Hina) - A big metal cross was transported to the site of the destroyed monastery and church of St. Philip and Jacob in Vukovar from Zagreb on Saturday. The cross was blessed by Pope John Paul II during his
first visit to Croatia in September 1994. The cross is the gift of Zagreb and the parish of the St. Cross in the Zagreb residential area of Siget to the hero-town of Vukovar. The transportation of the cross was organised by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) branch in Siget and the Siget parish. The head of 'Cirilometodska' province, Lucije Jagec received the cross and the delegation in front of the ruins of the Vukovar monastery and church. (hina) ms
