VINKOVCI, April 12 (Hina) - Two brothers were killed and another man was wounded on Sunday in explosions of live anti-personnel mines on a field in eastern Croatia, Vukovar County police said. Around 6 pm yesterday afternoon, Mirko
Mihaljevic (aged 35) from Nustar and Josip Adzic (aged 26) from Tordinci left their homes with the intention of clearing the field, so it could be prepared for sowing. They stepped on an anti-personnel PROM-1 mine and activated it, sustaining serious injuries in an explosion which followed. Mihaljevic died from his injuries on the way to hospital, while Adzic was kept in hospital and his life is not in danger. Having heard the explosion, Mihaljevic's brother Milenko (aged 31), also a resident of Nustar, went after the two men.
