SPLIT, March 15 (Hina) - The Croatian shipyard "Brodosplit" and the company "Diocletian Shipping Limited" on Monday signed a US$40- million-worth contract on the construction of four ships. The first ship is to be delivered in the
second half of 2000, and the other three every two months after that date. The ships are intended for different purposes, with a carrying capacity of 8,500 tonnes and a length of 113 meters. The contract was signed by "Brodosplit-Brodogradilista" director Vinko Rosic and Ivan Biocina, the director of "Diocletian Shipping Ltd", a foreign company of the Croatian shipping agency "Splitska plovidba". The contract will go into force as soon as a Canadian financial partner makes the first transfer, expected in about two months.
