SARAJEVO, March 2 (Hina) - NATO continues the preparations for its military engagement in Kosovo, and its forces are ready to act if the situation demands it, chief commander of NATO forces in Europe Wesley Clark said in Sarajevo on
Tuesday. During his visit to Sarajevo, Clark told reporters that the Rambouillete negotiations on Kosovo, which started last month, were virtually proceeding, but added that western military forces were preparing for an operation against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia if NATO Council demanded so, or in case a peace agreement was achieved and needed a support by deploying soldiers in the area. According to Clark, NATO preparations also include possible engagement in case Serbs would not be able to, or would refuse to guarantee the safety to unarmed OSCE's verifiers in Kosovo. He said he was not aware of plans for possible deployment of NATO soldiers from Bosnia-Hrezegov
