There were no bog wars in the Balkans if we compare the region's history with Germany and France, he said. He described as positive suggestions of regional cooperation, but added he wished to see this cooperation in a concrete implementation of these programmes. Europe must stop playing with words and think more about investments in the region, because our financial resources are limited, Meidani stressed. He added a rational solution for the situation in the Balkans should be found by introducing some king of Marshall plan for the development of infrastructure, economy and a better life. The creation of a third Europe would be a bad concept, he stressed Speaking about Kosovo, Meidani said the most important thing at the moment was to stop bloodshed and ethnic cleansing and stop the wave of refugees from Kosovo. There are currently more than 25,000 Kosovo Albanian refugees in Albania. If an agreement is signed in Rambouillet, the international community will exert efforts in its implementation, which is not possible without the presence of NATO, Meidani said. (hina) lml
