ZAGREB ZAGREB, Feb 9 (Hina) - The Convent Garden Orchestra of the Royal Opera from London held a concert in the overcrowded hall of "Vatroslav Lisinski" in Zagreb on Monday night. The orchestra was conducted by Jurij Aronovic, and the
soloist was a Bulgarian musician, Vasko Vassilev, one of the best young violinist in the world. In the first part, the orchestra played the overture from the Oberon opera by C.M. von Weber and the concert for the violin and orchestra in D-major by Chaykovski and in the second party they performed the third simphony in ES-major "Eroica" by Ludvig van Beethoven. The event was dedicated to the memory of a great Croatian conductor, Lovro Matacic and the 100th anniversary of his birth to be on 14 February this year.
