ZAGREB, Feb 2 (Hina) - The McDonald's chain of restaurants in Croatia opened 12 restaurants in six cities in the past three years, and invested about US$ 22 million in the Croatian economy, the McDonald's management reported on
Tuesday on the occasion of their third anniversary of work in Croatia. From early February of 1996 to the end of 1998, the McDonald's restaurants served about 10,5 million guests. In the same period seven new restaurants opened in Zagreb, one restaurant opened in Split, Rijeka, Osijek, Karlovac and Velika Gorica. The McDonald's management announced opening of new restaurants in 1999. McDonald's-Croatia stressed they were particularly proud of the fact the company was being managed by domestic personnel, and added that in the three years McDonald's had employed 590 workers in the existing 12 restaurants.(hina) it/mm
