beginning in Washington on Monday. Participants will discuss a variety of topics, such as assessing progress in transition, market development, social protection, openness for foreign capital, and more effective government organisation. IMF Institute director Saleh Nsouli said the organisers' intention is to hear about various countries' experience and simultaneously enable their representatives to hear others' experience and IMF experts' opinions. International Monetary Fund (IMF) Institute and beginning in
Washington on Monday.
Participants will discuss a variety of topics, such as assessing
progress in transition, market development, social protection,
openness for foreign capital, and more effective government
organisation.
IMF Institute director Saleh Nsouli said the organisers' intention
is to hear about various countries' experience and simultaneously
enable their representatives to hear others' experience and IMF
experts' opinions.
Representatives of participating countries, the IMF, and eminent
experts will try to consider the possibility for countries in
transition, which in the first phase succeeded in achieving
macroeconomic stability, to head towards recovery and sustainable
economic growth.
During his week-long stay in the United States, Skreb will hold
separate talks with World bank and IMF officials. He is also
expected to hold several meetings at the U.S. Department of Finance
and the central bank.
