ZAGREB, Jan 13 (Hina)- The licensed importers and distributors of
ten car companies - Citroen, Daewoo, Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo,
Hyundai, Mazda, Opel, Renault and Volvo - which made up 58 percent
of Croatia's car market in 1998, agreed not to participate in this
year's auto fair in the Croatian capital.
The event "Zagreb Auto Show" is scheduled for this April at Zagreb
Fair (ZV).
The licensed car dealers issued a joint statement saying that most
of specialised car showrooms in the world hold fairs biennially
because of costs reduction and improvement of the quality of such
events.
Therefore, the above mentioned car dealers proposed that the Zagreb
auto fair be held every other year. They also suggested in that case
the Zagreb Auto Show should last ten days instead of seven days
every year.
In their statement, forwarded to the Zagreb Fair which organises
the event, the distributors expressed their belief that they would
continue to cooperate successfully with the ZV.
