ZAGREB, Dec 23 (Hina) - The Croatian Employers' Association (HUP) supports Croatia's agreement with the International Monetary Fund on a stand-by arrangement for 2001, the association said in a statement last Thursday. Following
admission to the WTO and the start of negotiations with the European Union, the agreement with the IMF wraps up activities aimed at improving the country's position in international relations and opening new possibilities for accessing markets and attracting foreign investments. Positive achievements in the international field bind the country to increase activities with the aim of implementing economic programmes and creating conditions for development, resolving a number of economic problems such as insolvency, export and employment stimulation, legal insecurity, corruption, and regulating work relations, the statement said.(hina) rml
