was established by the Zagreb Trade Fair and the Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1989 to encourage scientific works in the Croatian language in Croatia and the Diaspora, the award committee chairman, Milan Mogus, said on Wednesday. The award is presented in six fields: social science, the humanities, and the natural, medical, technical and computer sciences. Mogus said the number of people and works competing for the award was increasing by the year, with more than 300 since 1989.
