INVESTIGATION PROCESS AGAINST GOSPIC GROUP CONTINUES

GOSPIC, Dec 15 (Hina) - In the continuation of an investigation proceeding against Tihomir Oreskovic and four residents of the central Croatian town of Gospic suspected of war crimes against Serb civilians in 1991, three witnesses took the stand before Gospic County Court Judge Branko Milanovic Friday. An investigation judge of the County Court in the northern Adriatic city of Rijeka, Sajonara Culina, and state prosecutor Doris Hrast on Friday visited several local cemeteries at which the remains of six persons, transferred from a grave in Debelo Brdo, have been buried in the past years, at the request of their families. Experts of the Rijeka Forensics Institute on Thursday discovered the remains of 18 persons in a mass grave at a local cemetery in Debelo Brdo, near the central Croatian town of Udbina. The exhumation was conducted at the request of Rijeka County Court investigating judge Sajonara Culina in court proceedings against Tihomir Oreskovic and a group of Gospic residents suspected of war crimes committed against civilians in Gospic in 1991.
