next year, because the government spending must be reduced, representatives of the three parties said during Wednesday's discussion in the Croatian parliament's House of Representatives. Zlatko Kramaric (HNS/LS parliamentary bench) gave the government credit for reducing the budget, adding this was "a Sisyphean task which was rarely being done in the world". The new government inherited a difficult situation and Croatia is faced with deep economic crises, Kramaric said. Without the solving of those crises, we will not be able to encourage a development. He, however, wondered how was it possible to stabilise economy when
14 companies went bankrupt since the beginning of December. In
Kramaric's opinion, social compensation should increase in such
situations.
On behalf of the HSS parliamentary bench, Josip Torbar assessed
that the draft state budget for the next year encouraged the
economic development.
