ZAGREB, Dec 1 (Hina) - Deputy Foreign Minister Vesna Cvjetkovic-Kurelec on Friday received a Turkish Foreign Ministry delegation headed by deputy under-secretary Yigit Alpogan. Both sides voiced satisfaction with the intensive
contacts held throughout the year and hoped they would continue in 2001, the Croatian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. Croatia and Turkey are interested in signing a free trade agreement and intensifying economic cooperation, especially through the Croatian-Turkish Economic Council, as well as in rapprochement with European and Atlantic institutions. Cvjetkovic-Kurelec briefed the Turkish colleague with last week's Zagreb Summit during which Croatia began negotiations with the European Union on a stabilisation and association agreement.
