HAMBURG HAMBURG, Nov 30 (Hina) - An exhibition of paintings on Croatia's maritime heritage, including paintings of old ships gathered from museums, church and private collections, was opened in Hamburg on Thursday. The event was
organised by the Croatian general consulate in Hamburg and the shipping company "Hans Treuhand." The main sponsor of the exhibition and the company's owner, Herman Ebel, expressed a wish to cooperate with Croatian shipbuilders, which he said enjoyed much renown in the world. Croatia's consul-general Mirjana Bohanec Vidovic said the exhibited paintings represented only a small segment of Croatia's history, describing the sea, seamen, ships and the development of Croatia's economy and culture. About 250 guests attended the opening of the exhibition.(hina) rml
