BOSNIAN HDZ ACCUSES BARRY OF 'ELECTORAL ENGINEERING'

MOSTAR, Nov 17 (Hina) - The Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia- Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) on Friday accused the head of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe Mission to Bosnia, Robert Barry, of rigging the elections with the aim of "destroying the HDZ BiH". Barry is achieving his goal using several methods, the HDZ claims, stressing Barry had taken away two of the party's mandates for the Bosnia-Herzegovina parliament and one for the Bosnian Federation parliament. By taking away two HDZ mandates in five cantons each without the right to substitution, Barry has taken away several dozen thousand votes from the party. "This means that he has cancelled several dozen thousands individual democratically stated political wills and rights, thus breaching the basic human right -- the right of vote," the HDZ BiH said in its statement. "This means the destruction of a people, which, they should know, nobody ever managed to do," the party asserted. The party also accused Barry of cancelling votes given to the HDZ in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and Central Bosnian Canton. These are two mixed (Croat-Bosniak) cantons in the Bosnian Federation. The party also criticised Barry for 11,651 votes being stoles in the night between November 15 and 16 during the counting of votes for the Bosnia-Herzegovina Parliamentary Assembly House of Representatives.
