ZAGREB, Nov 14 (Hina) - A 10-metre-long whale, found floating on the water some 700 metres off the Adriatic coast in Karin Bay, near the town of Zadar last Saturday died from an infection caused by worm-like parasites which clogged
the sea-mammal's arteries, the Environment Protection Ministry said in a statement Tuesday. The young whale had been spotted moving between the island of Pag and Karin some ten days prior to its death. The animal had been dead two days when it was found. A team from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Zagreb established the cause of death as being worm-like parasites which clogged the starved and exhausted whale's arteries. The Ministry warned people to stay 200 metres away from any possible whale they may spot, while groups of vessels should stay at least 400 metres back. According to media reports, people did go near the mammal. "It is difficult to ascertain how this affected the condition of the
