CROATIA ON MOTION ON YUGOSLAVIA'S JOINING UNITED NATIONS

ZAGREB, Nov 1 (Hina) - Croatia on Tuesday expressed satisfaction about the United Nations Security Council's passing of a motion which recommends the UN General Assembly to allow the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to join the organisation. In Croatia's opinion "this is a way of opening the path for the final implementation of the succession of the former Yugoslavia, and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia is committed to implement the United Nations charter and to fulfil all of its international-legal obligations". "The Republic of Croatia is satisfied with the adoption of a motion made by the UN Security Council and submitted to the General Assembly reading that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia be allowed to join the United Nations as a new member country", Croatian Foreign Ministry spokesman Goran Rotim told reporters Tuesday. "This is exactly what Croatia demanded from Belgrade since the beginning of the breakup of the former Yugoslavia. The membership of the new Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in the United Nations will enable the fulfilling of demands of Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia- Herzegovina and Macedonia about the final implementation of the succession of the former Yugoslavia", Rotim said.
