The World Bank delegation, which is on a two-day working visit to Croatia, positively assessed government's activities in stabilising economy and the privatisation process and expressed readiness to support them with loans. They reported about the progress of a loan for the structural adjustment of the enterprise and financial sector (EFSAL) and preparations for a new loan for structural adjustment (SAL). The latter loan is aimed at promoting growth and creating new jobs, strengthening the market and mechanisms for the promotion of a competitive market, and strengthening the social security

The World Bank delegation, which is on a two-day working visit to

efficient.
The World Bank delegation reiterated that full compliance with the
Government Reform Programme was the main precondition for the
allocation of the funds.
Vorkin informed Racan that the World Bank had granted Croatia a
donation of US$400,000 for the development of the communications
system and another million dollars for the return of displaced
persons and refugees.
Racan thanked for the donation adding he expected the World Bank
would continue demonstrating trust and understanding and providing
assistance so that the government could have strong support in the
process of reform and creation of new jobs.
