ZAGREB, Oct 21 (Hina) - The head committee of the Social Democratic Party, one of the two strongest in Croatia's ruling six-party coalition, on Saturday convened for a session which focused on the party's eighth electoral convention,
to be held Dec. 2-3. The session also discussed changes to the party's statute, committee chairman Mato Crkvenac told reporters. The December convention will tackle employment and development, education and computerisation, social issues, decentralisation and local self-government, and Croatia's integration with European structures. Discussing the current social situation, the head committee assessed the incumbent government was encountering a variety of hurdles in taking Croatia out of a difficult period. These are the issues the government and the entire state leadership will focus on in the coming period, said Crkvenac.(hina) ha
