STARIGRAD PAKLENICA, Oct 10 (Hina) - Croatia's national park Paklenica registered 63,000 visitors in the first nine months this year. This has been a record number in comparison to tours in this park before the Homeland Defence War in
early 1990s. Paklenica is actually two deep canyons - Velika Paklenica and Mala Paklenica - on the southern slopes of Mount Velebit (in the hinterland of Zadar), with 300-4000m-high cliffs above the canyons. Mountaineers and climbers from Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovenia accounted for the greatest part of the visitors this year, the park's management reported.(hina) ms
