BJELOVAR, Oct 4 (Hina) - Authorities in northern Croatia's Bjelovar-Bilogorje County postponed until early November bankruptcy proceedings for 15 companies in which the state has a controlling interest exceeding 25 percent. The said
companies employ almost 3,750 people. Competent ministries and the Croatian Privatisation Fund will join in finding solutions for two companies of strategic importance for the state, haulier Cazmatrans and food-processing industry Zdenka. Both are undergoing restructuring and will almost certainly avoid bankruptcy. Another seven companies may avoiding bankruptcy proceedings by getting involved in activities of the reconstruction and public works ministry, by selling stocks to interested employees, or selling to potential buyers who have already signed a letter of intent. Last year, these 15 companies recorded a 172.2 million kuna ($20.5
million) deficit. Their stock capital is 460 million kuna ($54.76
million), total short-term liabilities 707.6 million ($84.24
million) and long-term liabilities 209.3 million kuna ($24.92
million).
