MESIC: MILOSEVIC COULD TRY TO EXPEL MONTENEGRO FROM YUGOSLAVIA

ZAGREB, Oct 3 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic on Tuesday assessed that Slobodan Milosevic could try to "expel" Montenegro form the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which would discontinue the existence of the country, and he would continue to hold the authority in Serbia. "Milosevic is an irrational man who was, so far, always making moves which proved to be disastrous", Mesic told a press conference after his return from a two-day visit to Bulgaria. "Therefore one cannot foresee his moves; they are always worse than one could even imagine", Mesic said and added "Milosevic will now make Montenegro to exit FRY and to gain independence as soon as possible". Then, Yugoslavia will no longer exist, only Serbia will remain, where the authority is going to be concentrated, with police and army, Mesic said. "What does Kostunica's victory mean, in which Yugoslavia, if there isn't one?" President Mesic wonde

"What does Kostunica's victory mean, in which Yugoslavia, if there isn't one?" President Mesic wondered. Milosevic will not only try to maintain Montenegro as a part of the FRY, but will try to find a way to encourage same persons he had been accusing so far for independent Montenegrin policy, to hold a referendum and to establish a Yugoslavia. He is interested only in the authority, and this is how he will maintain in authority because he will accuse the current opposition it is their fault Montenegro left the Yugoslav federation, the Croatian President concluded.
