ZAGREB, Sept 28 (Hina) - Croatia and Slovakia will try to speed up their negotiations on free trade, Croatian Economy Minister Goranko Fizulic said on Thursday, after the first day of a session of a Croatian-Slovak commission on
economic cooperation. Slovak Economy Minister Lubomir Harach said his country would support Croatia's admission to the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA). Fizulic said he expected Croatia to sign free trade agreements with Slovakia and the Czech Republic in late October this year. He also expressed hope that Croatia could join the CEFTA in 2001. Today's session of the Croatian-Slovak commission for economic cooperation focused on cooperation in the areas of tourism, traffic, transport, power industry and the use of the Adriatic oil pipeline.
