Bolfek, following support for Odorcic voiced by most of Hina's employees at a recent ballot.
ZAGREB, Sept 21 (Hina) - At Thursday's closed session the Croatian
Government appointed Darko Odorcic as Editor-in-Chief of the
Croatian News Agency, Hina.
The decision was made at the suggestion of the agency's director,
Mirko Bolfek, following support for Odorcic voiced by most of
Hina's employees at a recent ballot. #L#
Odorcic was Hina's deputy editor-in-chief, and subsequent to the
dismissal of Benjamin Tolic on June 13, Odorcic performed his
duties as editor-in chief of the agency.
He has been with Hina since its establishment as chief editor in
charge of organising the reporter section of the agency, after
which he was made deputy editor-in-chief in September 1, 1990.
Darko Odorcic started working in reporting during his faculty days
and has been a professional reporter since 1970.
He arrived in Hina from the post of editor of Zagreb's "Privredni
vijesnik" magazine.
Odorcic was born in Zagreb on September 12, 1945.
He graduated at Zagreb's Faculty of Political Sciences, majoring in
journalism.
He is not a member of any political party.
