ZAGREB, Sept 11 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Slavko Linic on Monday met a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), with whom he discussed EBRD's new draft strategy for Croatia which should
be defined in October this year, the Government's Public Relations Office said in a statement. The EBRD officials were interested in political stability in the country, the implementation of the government's economic policy, the freedom and privatisation of the media, relations with social partners, privatisation processes, return and the provision of accommodation for refugees, as well as the coordination of activities within the government and between the government and the ministries, the statement read. Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), with whom he discussed
EBRD's new draft strategy for Croatia which should be defined in
October this year, the Government's Public Relations Office said in

The EBRD officials were interested in political stability in the
country, the implementation of the government's economic policy,
the freedom and privatisation of the media, relations with social
partners, privatisation processes, return and the provision of
accommodation for refugees, as well as the coordination of
activities within the government and between the government and the
ministries, the statement read.
Linic informed the delegation about the government's stands
regarding these issues, stressing EBRD's great financial
assistance and its presence had made it easier for Croatia to plan
its further development.
The EBRD delegation voiced satisfaction with the Government's
cooperation with international institutions, including its
cooperation with The Hague-based war crimes tribunal, and
demonstrated readiness to support the government's efforts to
restructure the economy, build state infrastructure and implement
local infrastructure projects, the statement read.
The EBRD delegation also visited the Finance Ministry today, where
they held talks with Finance Minister Mato Crkvenac about the
current economic situation and the new government's main economic
goals.
The EBRD officials were particularly interested in the level of
public spending and Croatia's negotiations with the International
Monetary Fund (IMF) regarding the possible signing of a new
arrangement.
