ZAGREB, Sept 11 (Hina) - Owners of private petrol stations in
Croatia rallied in front of the government building in Zagreb on
Monday protesting the difficult position they find themselves in.
They demand to be received by government representatives in view of
finding a way to come out of the "dead-end position" they found
themselves in after the management of Croatia's oil industry INA
unilaterally decided to abrogate rebate on derivatives for all
private dealers in oil and oil products.
The owners of private petrol stations claim the decision
jeopardises the existence of more than 200 privately-owned petrol
stations which employ more than 4,000 people.
Earlier this summer, they pointed to the issue with a day-long
protest. Representatives of the government promised on several
occasions a solution would be found by the end of August at the
latest.
The owners of private petrol stations say they will protest as long
as a permanent solution is not arrived at.
