ZAGREB ZAGREB, Sept 2 (Hina) - The 33rd international puppet theatre festival - Pupteatra Internacia Festivalo - was opened in Zagreb on Friday. The festival, to last until September 8, has gathered puppet theatre troupes from
Croatia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Israel, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia and Sweden. The event, which is organised by the Zagreb-based International Centre for Services in Culture, was opened by Zagreb Deputy Mayor Mladen Vilfan. At the end of the festival, awards will be given for the most successful performances. It was said at last night's opening ceremony that the city of Rijeka had been chosen to host the next Union Internationale de la Marionnette world congress, which should be held in 2004. The opening of the festivals was accompanied by the opening of exhibitions on several locations in Zagreb and a performance staged at Zagreb's Teatar &TD by members of Warsaw's
