SLAVONSKI BROD, Aug 30 (Hina) - A boat illegally transporting about 20 Iranians from Bosnia-Herzegovina into Croatia overturned on the Sava river in the night of August 29, a Brod-Posavina County police official said on Wednesday.
Police head Josip Rohacek told reporters today the Iranians were assisted in their attempt to enter Croatia by four Slavonski Brod residents, including a former reserve police officer. According to Rohacek, seven Iranians managed to swim to the Croatian and one to the BH shore of the Sava. The river washed ashore the corpses of four men and a two-year old boy. The seven Iranians who reached the Croatian shore, three men, three women, and a baby, were discovered after they knocked at the door of a street in Slavonski Brod at 2 a.m. looking for help.
