DUBROVNIK SEMINAR ON WHAT IT MEANS TO BE EUROPEAN CITIZEN ENDS

DUBROVNIK, Aug 17 (Hina) - A press conference in Dubrovnik's Inter- University Centre on Thursday marked the end of "What it Means to be a European Citizen", an annual seminar this year held for the sixth time. Zdravko Tomac, one of the seminar's directors and a Croatian parliament deputy speaker, said Croatia's future should be seen as a possibility of connecting with changes in the European Union. Tomac mentioned relations with neighbouring Bosnia-Herzegovina as a strategic issue. Without them Croatia will hardly enter Europe, and in that respect the europeisation of BH is very important for Croatia, he said. Addressing the press conference, BH Foreign Minister Jadranko Prlic said BH was evidently coming out of the "Dayton" and entering the "European stage", which he said had a strong regional dimension. According to Prlic, every country's success in connection with integration processes, BH included, primarily depends on the ability to adopt European standards. (hina) ha jn
