FOREIGN MINISTER RELIEVES 35 AMBASSADORS, CONSULS OF DUTYZAGREB, Aug 7 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula has relieved of duty 35 ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary and consuls general. The decision goes into
force on 31 October 2000, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. In line with the Croatian Constitution, President of the State Stipe Mesic gave his consent for Minister Picula's decision, the statement read. The decision was made due to the expiry or approach of the expiry of mandate, fulfilled retirement conditions and the need to speed up activities in Croatia's foreign policy toward some countries at a time of changed internal and economic conditions in Croatia, the statement read.
