Jelena Grcic-Polic, charge d'affaires with Croatia's permanent

cooperation during the final week of UN's Economic and Social
Council's annual conference in New York.
She said regional economic commissions had a very significant role

oriented objectives. "The Economic Commission for Europe (ECE)
continues to have the important task of assisting and researching
economic privatisation processes which many (UN) countries go
through," she said.
Grcic-Polic also said Croatia appreciated ECE's engagement in the
work of the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe. For a programme
promoting permanent regional stability to succeed, "it is of the
utmost importance that donors meet the commitments they assumed,"
she added.
